Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of solar farm projects in Paarl, Western Cape. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with EPC vendors and regulators to deliver high-quality renewable energy projects.

The role requires strong leadership, a track record in renewable energy development, and the ability to drive projects from feasibility through commissioning in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or related field is required.
• Minimum of 6 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in renewable energy development, preferably solar PV.
• Proven experience managing projects from development through to construction and commissioning.
• Strong understanding of solar technology, grid interconnection, and project finance.
• Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and contracts effectively.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of solar farm development projects, from inception to completion.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and due diligence.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Oversee the procurement process, including tendering and contracting with EPC providers and suppliers.
• Manage construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies, permitting agencies, and local communities.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, and utility companies.
• Monitor project performance and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Lead and motivate project teams and contractors.
