Job summary

Cleanleaf Energy is seeking a Solar Electrician to join our growing team. The Solar Electrician is one of the most experienced employees in the field, and they are responsible for leading and training any team members assigned to the team.

A Solar Electrician is required to have and maintain an active state journeyman license in the respective state for which this position is to be filled. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: demonstrate integrity, supervise

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass a criminal background and motor vehicle record check.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must have and maintain an active state journeyman license.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both oral and written.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation and SalesForce systems.
  • Proven experience understanding and implementing OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand basic drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of solar plant construction and how onsite equipment interacts with the overall plant.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair of SCADA/DAS systems.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair of major solar plant components.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair of major battery storage components.
  • Complete courses and maintain advanced inverter certifications.
  • Excitement about growing with a fast-paced company and willingness to build and iterate.
  • A passion for renewable energy and climate action.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train Solar Technician I or II on the team.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on solar and battery installations to meet standards.
  • Perform corrective maintenance, identify root causes, and ensure fixes.
  • Ensure work meets Cleanleaf O&M standards.
  • Document all work in CMMS with proper grammar, photos, and checklists.
  • Interface with SCADA/DAS systems and communicate with management and customers.
  • Provide technical support for customer issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Area Supervisor or Regional Manager.
