Job summary

Simulation Systems Technologies Inc (SSTi) in Dahlgren, VA seeks a Lead Software System Safety Engineer (EC3) to lead safety analyses, risk assessments, and testing for complex weapon-system software. You will defend safety conclusions before review boards and act as the technical authority on safety matters.

The role requires a BS in engineering or technical field, 7+ years in software engineering for modeling/simulation, and 2+ years focusing on software safety analyses, testing, and SAR/SAAR

Qualifications

BS degree in engineering or technical field.
7+ years software engineering in program development, modeling, and simulation.
2+ years as System Safety Engineer with software safety focus.
Experience presenting to safety boards (WSESRB/SSSTRP).

Responsibilities

Lead software safety analyses, testing, and risk assessments.
Document, track, and mitigate software safety anomalies.
Determine LOR tasks based on software criticality.
Perform peer reviews of C++/C# source code.
Prepare SARs and System Requirement Hazard Analyses.
Present safety findings to WSESRB and SSSTRP.
