Job summary

Collectly is seeking a backend engineer to develop and enhance features for the Collectly product, ensuring security, testing, and performance. You will integrate with EHR systems, build ETL pipelines, and design scalable PostgreSQL schemas.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Software Engineering, or similar field; 6 years of experience as a WebDeveloper or Python Developer.
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge including internals, autovacuum, and isolation levels.
• Experience building containerized apps with Docker; multi-stage Dockerfiles and cross‑platform images.
• Experience deploying scalable services with Kubernetes and AWS (EKS, autoscaling).
• Proficient with SQLAlchemy for complex data schemas and ORM patterns.
• Experience building RESTful services with FastAPI/Flask and async endpoints.
• Experience building front-end integrations with RESTful APIs; C#/.NET apps.
• Strong data pipelines and ETL with Celery; understanding of async programming.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Software Engineering, or similar field, and 6 years of experience as a WebDeveloper or Python Developer.

Knowledge of

• PostgreSQL internals, autovacuum, and transaction isolation levels;
• Python internals, including details of data type implementation regarding memorymanagement and performance optimization.

Experience in

• optimizing database queries using advanced PostgreSQL features;
• using CTEs, Window Functions, and complex data types in PostgreSQL;
• building containerized applications with Docker, writing multi-stage Dockerfiles, buildingcross-platform Docker images, and orchestrating multi-container environments;
• deploying scalable services using Kubernetes and AWS, managing EKS clusters, definingresources, configuring traffic routing, and implementing autoscaling;
• architecting CI/CD pipelines on GitLab;
• building complex data schemas and queries using SQLAlchemy while implementingpolymorphic relationships and preventing N+1 problems;
• building RESTful web services using FastAPI and Flask, utilizing validation, asyncendpoints, and middleware;
• building dynamic JavaScript web applications using modern frameworks and integratingthem with RESTful APIs;
• building and deploying web applications using C# and .NET Framework;
• complex ETL workflows using Celery Canvas primitives, while managing intermediate stateand monitoring queue health; and
• Python asynchronous programming (asyncio, coroutines, and event loops).
