Job summary

Neumo is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to serve as the technical lead for the Records platform (Land Records, Vital Records and Search). You will design scalable cloud-based microservice solutions, set technical standards for the team, and mentor Senior Engineers while partnering with product, architecture and leadership to deliver reliable, secure records services for government customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in full-stack development and cloud software, across both Microsoft and open-source technology stacks.
• Advanced backend coding skills in Java and .NET, including both .NET Framework and modern .NET. Python/Node.js/TypeScript a plus.
• Strong front-end experience with React for staff and public users.
• Deep experience designing, building and operating microservices with API design and versioning.
• Proficiency in Azure or AWS and cloud-native design patterns.
• Experience with SQL Server and document databases, data modeling and performance tuning.
• Strong expertise in search platforms and large-scale architectures.
• Experience leading modernization of monoliths to microservices.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and Agile teams.
• Security and compliance awareness (SOC 2, PCI) and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead on Records projects across cross-functional teams.
• Design, build and maintain advanced features within the Records platform (eRecording, eSubmission, indexing, search, and more).
• Provide technical direction for modernization and decoupling of components.
• Design for configurability across jurisdictions and ensure data integrity.
• Own technical direction for Records search and data migrations.
• Document technical standards and architecture decisions.
• Lead code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and improve reliability and data quality.
• Mentor Senior Engineers and reduce key-person risk through knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to CI/CD, IaC, testing and observability for reliable releases.
• Embed secure development practices in line with government requirements.
