Black River Systems Company is seeking a Lead Software Engineer based in Utica, NY, to drive full lifecycle software development for high-performance systems. The role requires collaboration with researchers and engineers across design, development, testing, and delivery efforts.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in software development, strong C/C++ and Java (and Python desirable), and effective communication skills. Onsite work in Utica/Syracuse with travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to document work clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development across full life cycle including design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including research and testing to deliver high-performance software.
• Travel to customer locations as required; onsite work in Utica or Syracuse, NY.
