Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Nicholasville, KY to drive development, integration, and support of software solutions across internal teams and external partners. You will own lock IP, including firmware, Bluetooth, mobile apps, and cloud platforms, while guiding architecture, design, and quality across teams.

The role requires 7+ years of software engineering experience, strong Agile/Scrum practice, and proven leadership in distributed environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience leading technical projects, software teams, or cross-functional initiatives.
Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Experience with distributed teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

Lead software development projects from concept to delivery and support.
Own acquisition, integration, maintenance, and evolution of lock-related IP (firmware, Bluetooth, mobile apps, PCBA software, cloud platforms).
Provide technical leadership across firmware, mobile apps, BLE, cloud platforms, and APIs.
Architect scalable SaaS and connected-device solutions and ensure security, reliability, and maintainability.
Coordinate with internal teams, remote resources, and external partners ensuring alignment on goals and timelines.
