Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Columbus seeks a Lead Software Engineer for the Consumer & Community Banking Deposits platform. You will be a core technical contributor, delivering trusted, scalable technology products in a secure environment with an agile team.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture, and collaborate across teams while advancing CI/CD, automated testing, and AI-assisted development tools to enhance quality and speed of delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with formal training or certification.
• Extensive hands-on experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability.
• 8+ years with Java, Spring, and event-based microservices in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong RESTful API, relational/NoSQL databases, data modeling and ingestion experience.
• Hands-on data streaming/messaging with Kafka or Spark.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and communicate executive-level tech risks and options.
• Mentoring and developing engineering talent; fostering inclusive team culture.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and evaluating AI outputs for correctness and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI practices in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions and technical troubleshooting beyond routine approaches.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews peers’ work.
• Identifies automation opportunities to improve stability of applications and systems.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and teams on architecture and applicability.
• Leads communities of practice to promote new technologies across the team.
• Mentors engineers and contributes to a culture of diversity and inclusion.
• Performs heavy coding with Java, Spring, microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud services.
• Leads an Agile team of 6 as a developer and contributor to deliver complex requirements.
• Expands CI/CD pipelines and ensures 100% unit testing and documentation coverage.
• Uses AI-assisted tooling to improve code quality, speed, and productivity with peer validation.
• Applies SDLC tools and best practices to maximize automation and value.
