Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Software Development Lead for the OnVUE team to provide technical leadership across one or more squads supporting Pearson VUE's remote proctoring platform.

You will guide architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and drive best practices to deliver secure, scalable software.

Partner with Product Managers, QA, and DevOps to ship reliable solutions, with strong front-end and back-end skills and cloud-native experience; AI tooling and accessibility knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years in technical leadership or lead developer roles.
• Experience designing distributed systems and leading Agile teams.
• Experience in cloud-native environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership for one or more squads.
• Drive architectural decisions and establish engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and promote high-quality code and security.
• Lead design sessions, code reviews, and technical assessments.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams.
• Support release planning, deployment, and platform modernization.
