Ascend Learning is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Healthcare Workforce Solutions group. You will shape the technology and development of the Laudio product, reporting to the Sr Manager of Software Engineering, and collaborate with a globally distributed team across the United States and Nepal.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding, architectural design of scalable systems, and leadership within an agile environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer; 3+ in a technical leadership role.
• Strong frontend experience with React and TypeScript; backend with Node.js.

Responsibilities

• Lead a software engineering team within the Healthcare Workforce Solutions group using Scrum to ship features.
• Architect scalable, highly available, and performant distributed systems.
• Hands-on coding across the full stack to drive product roadmap.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
• Identify opportunities to enhance technology and operational processes.
