Job summary

Leidos LLC is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer in Arlington, Virginia to advance unmanned and autonomous ship software for government programs. You will lead an Agile Scrum team, design, build, and test software powering critical maritime systems, and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or STEM and 4+ years of experience with C++ on Linux, with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Travel up to 25% may be required as projects mature.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM field, plus 4+ years of software development experience (or 2+ years with a Master’s).
Proficiency with data structures and C++ on Linux.
Experience leading small projects and mentoring junior engineers.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

Analyze, design, code and update software for new features and performance improvements.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
Serve as technical lead for small projects and provide direction and quality.
