Job summary

Wellington Management Co in Needham, MA is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Performance & Benchmark Technology Team. You will design, develop, and maintain investment middle-office applications, working with analysts and developers to deliver scalable software solutions for client reporting and investment decisions.

The role requires 10+ years in software development and 7+ years with Java/Spring Boot, with strong multi-threading and database experience.

Qualifications

10+ years of software development and design experience.
7+ years developing enterprise applications and services using Java and Spring Boot.
Experience with multi-threaded programming and various databases.
Experience in AWS environment is preferred.
Familiarity with Python and UI frameworks is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead technical design, set technical direction, and own the technical integrity of the solution.
Review requirements, specifications, use-cases, and test plans with business teams and engineers.
Champion AI-assisted development practices including code generation and automated testing.
Mentor engineers and promote best practices and professional development.
Design and optimize components for performance and scalability.
Ensure CI, code reviews, and proper release documentation.
