Applied Materials is seeking a senior software architect for service robotics to define the software architecture and roadmap for a scalable robotics platform. You will lead a lean software team, collaborate with central software groups, and align governance with product roadmaps and deployment across services.

The role emphasizes embedding software practices, cybersecurity alignment, release management, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, and service teams globally.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of software architecture and systems engineering.
• Experience with robotics software stack including C/C++, Python, ROS2.
• Knowledge of embedded/edge computing, cybersecurity, fleet operations, diagnostics.
• Experience integrating hardware and software in products.
• AI knowledge including model architectures for vision and transformers.

Responsibilities

• Define software architecture, roadmap, and interface strategy for Applied Materials service robotics platform, including embedded software and lifecycle tooling dependencies.
• Lead the dedicated software team, coordinate with central software groups, and influence governance.
• Governance across architecture, development, validation, deployment, and cross-functional communication.
• Drive adoption of new software technologies and scalable product-grade workflows.
• Ensure end-to-end product lifecycle management and reliable software updates across fleets.
