Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within Asset Management Technology to design, build, and operate secure, scalable platforms powering CMAS and SMA trading at retail scale.

You will lead end-to-end components, drive technical direction, and partner with product, business, and operations teams to deliver reliable, scalable software, while raising engineering standards across teams.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture.
• Hands-on experience delivering platform/system design and operational stability.
• Proficient in Java and Python; strong API design and microservices experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools and secure coding practices.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, resiliency, and security.
• Experience building RESTful web services, microservices, and API testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy Java-based microservices and REST APIs; lead delivery across services.
• Build and evolve data pipelines and datasets for trading and client reporting; ensure lineage and auditability.
• Own production readiness: observability, incident response, post-incident improvements.
• Embed security and controls into design; enforce IT policies and release governance.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business outcomes into delivery plans; lead engineering on scope and risk.
• Foster a culture of inclusion, learning, and engineering excellence.
