Job summary

CMC Rescue Inc seeks a Soft Goods Design Engineer in Goleta, CA to lead the design and development of textile-based life-safety equipment for rope rescue, rope access, work-at-height, and technical rescue markets. The role covers concept through production, including prototyping, testing, certification, and manufacturing handoff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or related.
• 5+ years of product development experience.
• Experience taking products from concept through production.
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) or equivalent.
• Hands-on prototype fabrication and sewing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of soft goods products (harnesses, belts) for rope rescue and related domains.
• Develop specifications and engineering requirements for textile-based systems.
• Create and iterate prototypes, tests, and validation plans.
• Drive cross-functional design reviews and DFMA improvements.
