Job summary

Straive is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to architect scalable Snowflake-based backend solutions for multi-system integration. You will lead data modeling efforts and set standards for data governance, SQL coding, and performance tuning.

Collaborating with business and technical stakeholders, you will guide data strategies, oversee semantic layers and reporting views, and mentor the team to deliver reliable, cost-efficient data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years in backend engineering or data warehousing.
• Expert-level SQL and scalable data transformation.
• Data modeling, governance, and metadata management.
• ETL/ELT patterns and orchestration knowledge.
• Experience integrating multiple source systems and APIs.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Nice to have ERP experience in finance.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design scalable Snowflake-based backend solutions for multi-system integration.
• Lead data modeling initiatives and enterprise canonical structures.
• Define standards for SQL, naming, schemas, performance, and security roles.
• Oversee reusable semantic data layers, governed datasets, and reporting views.
• Review artifacts, mentor staff, and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data strategies and integration patterns.
• Ensure cost-optimized ingestion and transformation architectures with governance.
• Troubleshoot complex data integration issues and ensure backend pipeline availability.
