Job summary

Liberty University is seeking a Site Technician III/Lead to support campus grounds maintenance, mowing, planting, and related landscape projects. The role involves operating equipment, overseeing 2–3 staff, and coordinating with the Grounds Supervisors and Director of Grounds.

CDL within first year is required, with potential aerial lift work. Responsibilities include seasonal lawn care, hardscape support, and safe handling of equipment and chemicals.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school degree or GED.
• Minimum of 5+ years of related grounds/landscaping experience preferred.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license and be insurable.
• Must obtain or already have a CDL within the first year of employment.
• Leadership experience preferred; ability to work with a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine grounds maintenance including mowing, edging, weeding, planting, and related activities.
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment and light/heavy-duty vehicles.
• Assist in site renovations, grading, and landscaping projects.
• Digs holes, moves materials, and assists with hardscaping tasks.
• Adhere to safety PPE requirements and follow instructions for chemical applications.
• Be available as essential personnel for emergencies or campus events.
• Work with Grounds team on special projects and cover weekends/holidays as needed.
