Job summary

Liberty University, Inc. seeks a Waste & Streets Management Technician I to assist in campus waste and street operations. You will work both independently and as part of a team, using good judgment to complete tasks and maintain grounds safety.

As essential personnel, you may work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and operate light and heavy equipment with proper PPE. The role starts at $12.77 per hour, with Virginia minimum wage guidance, and requires current LU student enrollment.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled Liberty University student.
• High School degree or GED.
• Experience in grounds maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reports to work at the required time and follows duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Manager, and Grounds Director.
• Assist other Waste & Streets management technicians to work as a team and complete tasks.
• Responsible for equipment maintenance and cleaning.
• Responsible for refuse collection from small cans to dumpsters.
• Responsible for street and parking lot cleaning and marking, paint and decal applications for crosswalks.
• Responsible for street repairs and signage repairs when needed.
• Transport equipment on and off-campus locations.
• Wear the appropriate PPE when operating equipment (eye protection, ear protection, hard hat, gloves, boots, etc.).
• Maintain knowledge of campus and be flexible to work some nights and weekends.
• Snow removal activities as assigned (shoveling, salting).
• Remain abreast of emerging technologies and best practices.
