Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States seeks a Lead Silicon Software and Hardware Integration Engineer to bridge custom silicon architectures with upper-level software. You will lead HW/SW integration from pre-silicon planning to bring-up and system debugging on SoCs and ASICs.

This onsite role offers relocation, travel up to 20%, and a chance to work with hardware and software teams across San Diego, Kent, and Austin, with a remote exception during site development.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Signal processing, RF design, or system integration.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages like Python.
• Strong understanding of SoC architecture, RF transceiver, and low-level communication protocols (PCIe, I2C, SPI).
• Lab experience with logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzer, and oscilloscope.
• U.S. citizenship or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Lead HW/SW integration planning and resource allocation for silicon programs.
• Oversee initial power-on and bring-up of chips in the lab.
• Drive HW/FW strategy for integration on physical silicon.
• Direct design and build of test boards for silicon bring-up and integration.
• Collaborate with architects, hardware designers, and software teams to debug complex issues.
