Job summary

North Texas Fleet Services is seeking a Lead Shop Technician to join our onsite maintenance team. You will perform repairs and inspections on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, oversee maintenance procedures, and train junior technicians.

Responsibilities include parts procurement, inventory control, and completing DOT documentation. A valid driver’s license and 3–5 years of diesel repair experience are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of diesel repair experience preferred.
• Communication skills required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.
• Ability to utilize a computer/tablet for electronic processing of work orders including labor hours and updates.
• Strong diagnostic and electronic testing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and inspections on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers (brakes, diagnostics, A/C, electrical, engine components, exhaust, after-treatment, lift-gates, tires).
• Assist with leading and training other technicians.
• Schedule and oversee all maintenance procedures including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Repair/replace vehicle and trailer components.
• Open and close repair orders on a company-issued device.
• Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion.

What You’ll Do

• Perform repairs and inspections on a variety of Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, such as brakes, diagnostics, A/C systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust systems, after-treatment systems, lift-gates, tires, etc.

Salary information $30 - $40/hr. - pay is commensurate with experience
