Job Title: Shipping Department Lead
Department: Warehouse / Logistics
Reports To: Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Lead Shipping/Receiving Associate is responsible for overseeing daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure orders are processed, packed, and shipped accurately and on time. This role coordinates shipping/receiving staff, maintains shipping schedules, ensures compliance with company procedures, and supports efficient warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily shipping activities and workflow.
- Ensure orders are picked, packed, labeled, and shipped accurately.
- Monitor shipping schedules and meet delivery deadlines.
- Train, guide, and support shipping department employees.
- Verify shipping documentation, packing lists, and carrier paperwork.
- Coordinate with warehouse, inventory, and customer service teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
- Ensure purchase orders and packing lists match documentation.
- Troubleshoot shipping issues, delays, or discrepancies.
- Maintain organized shipping areas and efficient processes.
- Assist with loading/unloading shipments when needed.
- Track shipments and provide status updates when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (associate degree preferred).
- 2+ years of warehouse or shipping and receiving experience.
- 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, freight carriers).
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), shipping software, or ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment.

Work Environment
