Job summary

Sabre Industries, Inc. is seeking a Shipping Lead to oversee internal movement, staging and shipment of goods while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with the Shipping-Traffic Manager and Carrier partners to meet customer delivery parameters and drive efficiency.

The role emphasizes documentation accuracy, timely communications, and coordination across production, shipping and maintenance teams to sustain high performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee internal movement, staging and shipment of semi-finished and finished goods to meet delivery parameters.
• Maintain safe, productive work environment and support department objectives.
• Provide timely information to management and colleagues on critical issues.
• Collaborate with Shipping-Traffic Manager to coordinate carrier pick-up/delivery schedules.
• Ensure documentation for all shipments complies with regulations and customer specs.
• Coordinate with the shipping team to optimize time and outbound workloads.
• Gather and validate shipping data from multiple sources for accuracy.
• Work with Shipping Coordinator to ensure loads are delivered on time.
• Interact with staff to drive inventory control, process changes and improvements.
• Resolve equipment and shipping issues to maximize efficiency and safety.
• Coordinate with maintenance to align with production and shipping schedules.
• Maintain regular and on-time attendance; follow shift schedule and teamwork.

Scope Of Responsibility

Works with management to oversee the internal movement, staging and shipment of semi-finished and finished goods to ensure the fulfillment of customer mandated delivery parameters. Ensures that department objectives are met along with safety, project, cost and quality factors to enhance the operating efficiency of the organization. Demonstrate high performance standards characterized by integrity and a positive attitude.

Essential Duties

• Maintains safe, open and proactive working environment treating employees with dignity and respect.
• Provides timely, accurate, and candid information on critical issues to management, colleagues, and team members as appropriate.
• Leads by example fostering teamwork, sound business decisions and fairness within the Sabre organization.
• Works with Shipping-Traffic Manager to maintain effective business relationships with shipping carriers including management of pick-up/delivery schedules.
• Ensures documentation for all shipments is completed accurately and timely according to respective government regulations, company policy, and customer specifications.
• Utilizes planning and organizational skills in coordination of the shipping team to effectively maximize their time as it applies to shipping and staging of all outbound shipments.
• Ensures appropriate shipping data from various resources and formats is collected.
• Works closely with Shipping Coordinator to ensure all loads are delivered in a timely manner.
• Interacts with administrative and management staff to facilitate inventory control, shipping and receiving process changes and improvements. Implements necessary action plans to accomplish department related objectives and to properly manage staff, safety and any employee issues.
• Works with the appropriate persons as necessary to correct equipment and other related shipping issues that are discovered to maximize shipping efficiency, minimize downtime and maintain plant safety.
• Works with the maintenance staff to ensure items are completed in a timely manner that accomplishes set objectives and accommodates shipping, production and maintenance schedules.
• Regular and on-time attendance.
• Work in your shift as scheduled.
• Must work well with others.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Regular and timely attendance is required
• Previous Shipping Experience required.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and attention to detail are important.
• Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.
• Must possess clear and articulate verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions based on logical evaluation of data.
• Must work with minimum supervision and with all levels of employees, supervisors and managers.
• Conscientious attention to and inspection of detail required.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials
• Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekends
• Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual
• Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures
• Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
