Job summary

Omni Federal in Arlington, VA is seeking a Lead Shipping and Receiving Technician to oversee site logistics, inbound/outbound shipments, and cargo handling. You will coordinate freight, maintain inventory records, and ensure compliance with government standards.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of shipping and receiving experience in a government or commercial setting, is physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs, and holds or can obtain a Public Trust clearance. This role is onsite.

• Experience using inventory/ERP systems and carrier platforms (FedEx, UPS, DHL) and logging asset tags/manifests.
• Active Public Trust or eligible for background investigation.
• 100% on-site presence in Arlington, VA.

TheLead Shipping and Receiving Technician will serve as the lead/solo Shipping and Receiving Specialist for a defense contractor site in Arlington, VA. Responsible for end-to-end inbound and outbound logistics, loading/unloading cargo, freight coordination, inventory control, package distribution, and maintaining property tracking records in compliance with government standards

Requirements:

• Logistics & Warehousing: 8+ years of hands-on experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling within a commercial or government contractor environment.

• Physical Capability: Ability to repeatedly lift, lower, push, pull, and carry items and shipping containers weighing up to 75 lbs.

• Inventory & Asset Tracking: Hands-on experience using inventory /ERP systems, carrier platforms (FedEx, UPS, DHL, and freight lines), and logging incoming asset tags/manifests.

• Security & Clearance: Active Public Trust (or immediate eligibility to undergo a Public Trust background investigation).

• On-site Execution: Dedicated 100% on-site presence in Arlington, VA.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with government property handling regulations (FAR Part 45 / DFARS) and government shipping forms (DD-250, WAWF / Wide Area Workflow).

• Certification or experience operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE), such as pallet jacks or forklifts.

• Basic understanding of HAZMAT packaging and shipping regulations (DOT / IATA)
