Description
The Lead Service Technician is a champion of top-notch customer service for our residents, future residents, and tenants, as well as the front line in leadership in the Supervisors absence and customer care by exceeding expectations positively and professionally.
Gillespie Group requires a background and drug screen as a condition of employment and requires physical testing. May be required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. A valid driving license, vehicle, and current automobile insurance are required. The position requires individuals to furnish their own vehicle to fulfill all the job’s functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES & PROJECTS
- Complete all work orders promptly, maintain accurate records, preventative maintenance, and site and grounds inspections
- Monitor work order completion as directed by the supervisor
- Provide daily updates to the Supervisor
- Assist service team members and responsible for high-level challenging work orders.
- Conduct a daily service team huddle to map out a plan of action for the day as directed by the Supervisor.
- Turn scheduling
- Assist with capital expenditure projects including obtaining bids and vendor scheduling and communication.
- Monitor inventory and assist in ordering and adherence to budget and PO Policy
- Perform various duties such as building repairs and snow removal/shoveling to provide residents with a clean and well-maintained living environment.
- Maintain property grounds through daily inspection, clean-up, and preventative care
- Maintain and care for equipment as necessary for its continuous operation.n
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, general education degree or related Vocational Training and/or equivalent work experience
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency to ensure all service requests are responded to in a timely manner.
- Capability of operating standard tools
- General basic knowledge of plumbing, appliance, mechanical, electrical, drywall repair, HVAC systems, and carpentry experience is preferred.
- Ability to stand and/or be in continuous motion for extended periods of time while performing job functions with physical endurance
- Ability to display effective communication, customer service, and organizational skills
Minimum Physical Expectations:
- Physical activity that requires the ability to exert 25 to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 lbs consistently
- Physical activity that on occasion requires lifting or moving 100 lbs or more
- Physical activity that requires the ability to frequently operate standard tools
- Physical activity that sometimes requires travel by car
- Physical activity that requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms
- Physical activity that requires the ability to frequently climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. Must hear and speak well enough to conduct business over the telephone or face to face (in English) for periods of time.
Minimum Environmental Expectations:
- This position will require working indoors as well as outdoors
- This is an In Person role and will report to the property for work
- This position could face very stressful situations from time to time
