Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Service Advisor to serve as a primary relationship manager for an established group of clients while partnering closely with the firm's Lead Advisor.
This position sits between client service and senior financial advisory responsibilities and is designed for someone who wants to continue developing toward a Lead Financial Advisor position over time.
This is a client-service and financial-planning role, not a business-development or producer position. There is no expectation that this individual arrive with a portable book of business or build one through cold prospecting.
The Lead Service Advisor will lead client meetings, coordinate comprehensive financial advice, and ensure clients receive proactive, highly personalized service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced wealth-management professional who is ready to take greater ownership of client relationships and continue progressing within an advisory career path.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned client relationships.
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and their families.
- Maintain regular and proactive communication between scheduled reviews.
- Develop a thorough understanding of each client's financial circumstances, goals, priorities and family dynamics.
- Identify changes in client needs and opportunities to deepen existing relationships.
- Deliver a consistent, responsive and highly personalized client experience.
- Prepare for and lead client review and financial-planning meetings.
- Coordinate comprehensive advice across:
- Investments
- Retirement planning
- Cash-flow planning
- Tax considerations
- Insurance
- Estate planning
- Wealth-transfer strategies
- Translate financial plans into clear recommendations and actionable next steps.
- Partner with the Lead Advisor on complex planning situations and high-net-worth client relationships.
- Coordinate with investment teams, custodians, tax professionals, attorneys and other outside advisers.
Client Service & Execution
- Ensure meeting notes, client records and follow-up items are complete and accurately maintained within the CRM.
- Monitor outstanding client requests and ensure commitments are completed promptly.
- Work closely with Client Service Associates and other team members to coordinate account administration and service activities.
- Ensure recommendations and action items identified during client meetings are appropriately implemented.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately and help establish clear service standards across the team.
- Mentor less-experienced advisors and client-service professionals.
- Collaborate closely with the Lead Advisor and broader advisory team.
- Assume increasing ownership of client relationships as experience and trust develop.
- Continue developing toward greater advisory responsibility and a potential future Lead Financial Advisor position.
Compliance & Fiduciary Responsibility
- Follow all firm policies, regulatory requirements and fiduciary standards.
- Exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential client financial and personal information.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in wealth management, financial planning or an RIA environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or managing ongoing client relationships.
- Experience preparing for and participating in client review and financial-planning meetings.
- Working knowledge of investments, retirement planning, tax considerations, insurance, estate planning and wealth-transfer strategies.
- Experience working with affluent or high-net-worth clients strongly preferred.
- Series 65 or Series 7 & 66 required, or ability to obtain the required registration within an agreed-upon timeframe.
- CFP® designation strongly preferred.
- CFA®, ChFC® or CPWA® credentials may also be considered.
- Strong client communication, relationship-management and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts in clear, practical language.
- Highly organized, responsive and capable of managing multiple client priorities.
- Experience with CRM, custodial and financial-planning platforms.
- Collaborative approach and willingness to support the broader advisory and client-service team.
