Job summary

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is seeking a Team Lead Server Engineering in Flowood, MS, to plan and lead the Server Engineering team, guiding the research and implementation of new systems and supporting existing infrastructure.

The role drives technology projects around servers, SAN, monitoring, patch management, AD, and backup and disaster recovery, with a focus on reliability, recoverability, and alignment with corporate goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years’ experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems and in supporting server related infrastructure.
• Must have experience in leading technology related projects.
• Must have good understanding of Microsoft Windows Active Directory.
• Must have a thorough understanding of current networking technologies, security administration, and backup & disaster recovery technologies and solutions.
• Must be proficient in use of LAN technologies and current corporate standard desktop productivity applications as well as project management and visual documentation tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead the Server Engineering team in researching and implementing new systems.
• Support existing server infrastructure and related software.
• Lead technology projects involving servers, SAN, monitoring and patch management.
• Develop technical recommendations to improve the technology environment.
• Ensure production technology is available and performing as expected.
• Plan and lead efforts to improve the business recovery environment and participate in semi-annual recovery tests.
