Job summary

Colaska Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead project execution, cost control, scheduling, and contract administration on heavy civil construction in Alaska.

You will bridge field operations and project management, mentoring engineers and coordinating with owners, subcontractors, and vendors to deliver projects on time and within budget. The role offers development toward Assistant PM or PM, a strong safety culture, and comprehensive benefits, with a competitive compensation package

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and industry experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible heavy civil construction experience.
• Experience supporting project management, cost control, scheduling, and contract administration.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop Project Engineers and entry-level employees.
• Assist in training, coaching, and onboarding of project staff.
• Identify training opportunities and support employee development initiatives.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional growth among project team members.
• Demonstrate effective delegation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Actively champion and model the company's safety culture.
• Participate in safety observations, pre-planning meetings, toolbox talks, and safety programs.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate jobsite risks and hazards.
• Demonstrate safety leadership and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Lead and coordinate cost control, scheduling, and contract administration on heavy civil projects.
