Job description

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for leading the daily operations of the department, including schedule adjustments and monitoring activities to verify compliance with established policies and standards. Provides leadership and direction to staff in coordination with and in the absence of a supervisor's presence. Assumes the role of "person in charge" when required, in accordance with Washington State Food Code. Responsible for delegating daily duties to ensure timely completion of work. Assists with orienting and training staff. Facilitates dissemination of information and may run shift meetings and huddles as assigned. Acts as a communication liaison between the management team, caregivers, and other departments. Ensures cross-training in each nutrition position to maintain competence for support in emergent situations and to ensure the lead understands the expectations of each position.

Required Qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Upon hire: National Food Handler Card - State, County, or City Authority
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of institutional, restaurant, hotel, or healthcare food service experience
  • 1 year of leadership experience
