Description

Responsible for leading the daily operations of the department, including schedule adjustments and monitoring activities to verify compliance with established policies and standards. Provides leadership and direction to staff in coordination with and in the absence of a supervisor's presence. Assumes role of "person in charge" when required, in accordance with Washington State Food Code. Responsible for the delegation of daily duties to ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner. Assists with orienting and training staff. Assists with the dissemination of information and may run shift meetings and huddles as assigned. Acts as a communication liaison between the management team, caregivers, and other departments. Responsible for cross-training staff in various nutrition positions to ensure competence for emergent support and to ensure the lead has a full understanding of each position's expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Upon hire: National Food Handler Card - State County City Authority

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year Institutional, Restaurant, Hotel, or Healthcare food service experience
  • 1 year Leadership experience
