Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to lead project design teams within our Facilities Engineering Solution Center. Location could be in any of the Barge Design Solutions office locations.

You will drive electrical system design for diverse facilities, manage scope, schedule, and budgets, and mentor early career staff while coordinating with clients and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET‑accredited university.
• PE certification required.
• Minimum 10 years of related experience.
• An active NCEES Record is a strong plus.
• Experience with design of manufacturing facilities, data centers, and/or water treatment.
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or BIM(3D) software.
• Experience using AGI 32 Lighting Analysis software a plus.
• Experience with SKM Power Tools software a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Electrical Lead for design projects in a multi‑discipline environment. Manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects.
• Provide technical design expertise to projects including development of solutions to engineering and technical challenges.
• Design facility electrical systems for facilities projects including water treatment, data centers, commercial, institutional, federal, DOD, utility, and industrial facilities.
• Design grounding, power, lighting, and systems plans and specifications.
• Prepare calculations and analyses of electrical systems such as lighting and power systems.
• Review work developed by others for quality purposes.
• Lead complex technical portions of meetings with clients.
• Interact with other project design team members and clients.
• Mentor other early career staff.
• Perform construction administration including submittal reviews, response to contractor questions, and site visits as required.
• Develop strong relationships with project managers, clients, contractors, and others.
• Additional responsibilities as needed.
