Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead engineering project design teams within our Facilities Engineering Solution Center. Location could be in any of the Barge Design Solutions office locations.

The role includes leading electrical designs for a range of facilities, mentoring early career staff, and performing construction administration such as submittals and site visits. This position requires a PE license and extensive experience in electrical design.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSEE required.
• PE certification required.
• Minimum 10 years of related experience.
• Active NCEES Record is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Electrical Lead for design projects; manage scope, schedule, and budget.
• Provide technical design expertise and develop solutions to engineering challenges.
• Design electrical systems for facilities projects (water treatment, data centers, commercial, institutional, federal, DOD, utility, industrial).
• Design grounding, power, lighting, and systems plans/specifications; prepare calculations and analyses.
• Review work for quality; lead complex technical portions of client meetings.

Job description

What We're Looking For:

Barge is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to lead engineering project design teams within our Facilities Engineering Solution Center. Location could be in any of the Barge Design Solutions office locations.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Electrical Lead for design projects in a multi-discipline environment. Manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects.
• Provides technical design expertise to projects including development of solutions to engineering and technical challenges
• Designs facility electrical systems for facilities projects including water treatment, data centers, commercial, institutional, federal, DOD, utility, and industrial facilities
• Designs grounding, power, lighting, and systems plans and specifications
• Prepares calculations and analyses of electrical systems such as lighting and power systems
• Reviews work developed by others for quality purposes
• Leads complex technical portions of meetings with clients
• Interacts with other project design team members and clients
• Mentors other early career staff
• Perform construction administration including submittal reviews, response to contractor questions, and site visits as required
• Develop strong relationships with project managers, clients, contractors, and others
• Additional responsibilities as needed

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited university, Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification required
• Minimum 10 years of related experience
• An active NCEES Record is a strong plus.
• Experience with design of manufacturing facilities, data centers, and/or water treatment
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or BIM(3D) software
• Experience using AGI 32 Lighting Analysis software a plus
• Experience with SKM Power Tools software a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
