Job summary

Syngenta Seeds seeks a Conditioning Plant Lead to oversee SSV conditioning and seed health operations in Pasco, WA. You will ensure strict HSE compliance and drive quality throughout production, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet production orders.

You will supervise staff, manage equipment calibration, and implement process improvements while maintaining accurate documentation and adherence to plant procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AA or Bachelor’s highly preferred.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Smartsheet and data entry experience.
• Must be able to be forklift certified.
• Ability to operate conditioning, chemical and packaging equipment.
• AASCO seed sampler certification.
• Excellent analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work with outside vendors/agencies and internal personnel.
• Working knowledge of inventory management principals.
• Able to wear pesticide PPE; lift 50 lbs; bending and stooping; stand/walk; stairs/ladders.
• Work in cold, hot, dusty conditions; shift work and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Adherence to HSE and corporate policies.
• Present safety training classes and observations.
• Ensure equipment calibration and inspection.
• Supervise employees and third-party personnel.
• Meet SSV conditioning department needs.
• Work in dedicated SSV conditioning and seed health area.
• Provide leadership and seed quality expertise to SSV plant activities.
• Maintain plant operating procedures documentation.
• Identify seeds and check against production orders; fill orders.
• Ensure clean-downs and changeovers prevent contamination.
• Assist with quality samples and data collection.
• Execute sampling procedures per procedures.
• Develop processing plans to meet business needs.
• Communicate proactively interdepartmentally.
• Respond to seed not meeting specs.
• Schedule plant and equipment maintenance and R&M.
• Drive continuous improvement with employee motivation.
• Provide informational updates in a timely manner.
