RapidFire Safety & Security in Sacramento, CA is seeking a journeyman Installation Technician to install cabling, video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems across Northern California. You will work independently with a focus on safety and customer service.

Responsibilities include on-site installation of products, testing for full functionality, and collaborating with teammates while staying current with evolving security technologies.

Competenze

• Strong low-voltage wiring knowledge.
• Experience with IP cameras, access control systems, and intrusion panels.
• Ability to read prints and work without constant supervision.
• Clean, organized workmanship — neat wiring inside/outside panels.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Professional communication with customers.
• Servicing customers within Southern California region.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally), climb ladders, operate lifts, and work in tight spaces.

Job Summary

We are seeking a candidate for a journeyman level Installation Technician position in Sacramento, CA. Successful candidates will install cabling, video surveillance, access control and intrusion detection systems in the Northern California area. As part of Rapid Fire’s diverse offerings, the candidate may, from time to time, work with members of our fire alarm team to assist with fire alarm installations. Candidates must be able to work independently and have great customer service skills.

Knowledge, Skill & Other Requirements

• Install IP CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion, and integrated security systems
  (Avigilon, Software House, Hirsch, DMP, Bosch, Exacqvision, Hanwha and Axis)
• Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage wiring per spec and code
• Mount panels, power supplies, readers, cameras, and devices clean, level, and secure
• Troubleshoot and correct installation issues in the field
• Test and commission systems prior to leaving site to ensure full functionality
• Work independently in client environments with professionalism
• Communicate job progress, delays, or issues clearly to management
• Complete job documentation accurately and on time
• Follow all safety standards — no shortcuts
• Maintain tools, truck stock, and equipment in organized condition
• Support teammates and assist with training when needed
• Stay current with product updates and evolving technology

Qualifications & Experience:

• Strong low-voltage wiring knowledge
• Experience with IP cameras, access control systems, and intrusion panels
• Ability to read prints and work without constant supervision
• Clean, organized workmanship — no sloppy wiring inside or outside panels
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Professional communication with customers
• Servicing customers withing Southern California region
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally), climb ladders, operate lifts, and work in tight spaces
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check to work at state, local and federal job sites
• Ability to pass random drug screenings to maintain a drug-free workplace standard as required by our clients
