Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to join the Cybersecurity Technology & Controls group and deliver secure software solutions across the organization. You will serve as a core technical contributor, driving secure code, threat modeling, vulnerability testing, and AI-assisted security practices across multiple business functions.

As a senior technical leader, you will collaborate with stakeholders, validate AI-supported recommendations, and ensure data handling and auditability

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Java and Python in Cloud Environments.
• Plan, design, and implement enterprise level security solutions.
• Strong hands-on AI/ML engineering skills (ML frameworks like PyTorch/TensorFlow, MLOps with CI/CD and model deployment/monitoring).
• Deep GenAI experience (LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, embeddings/vector databases), and Agentic AI expertise (tool/function calling, orchestration frameworks, multi-agent workflows, evaluation/guardrails, and responsible AI/security).
• Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support security engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
• Ability to review and validate AI-assisted code/security recommendations before adoption, escalating uncertainty and ensuring outcomes align to security, resiliency, and auditability expectations.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle Development , Testing and Implementation
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative security solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems
• Develops secure and high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Minimizes security vulnerabilities by following industry insights and governmental regulations to continuously evolve security protocols, including creating processes to determine the effectiveness of current controls
• Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate threat modeling, vulnerability analysis synthesis, and security documentation, validating outputs and ensuring sensitive data is handled appropriately.
• Works with stakeholders and business leaders to understand security needs and recommend business modifications during periods of vulnerability
• Conducts discovery, vulnerability, penetration testing, and threat scenarios on multiple organizational assets to identify and assess if vulnerabilities are present, and executes threat modeling for multiple applications including external applications interacting with the internal JPMorgan Chase network
• Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within SDLC/toolchain routines to strengthen security testing and control validation, ensuring traceability/auditability and alignment to resiliency and security expectations.
