The Securities and Exchange Commission seeks a Supervisory General Attorney (Assistant General Counsel) in the Administrative Law and Legal Review Group in Washington, DC. You will provide legal analysis and advice on federal securities laws and administrative procedures. Requirements include a J.D.

or LL.B. and active bar membership, plus four years post-J.D. experience applying securities laws and advising on Advisers/Company Act matters.

Qualifications

J.D. or LL.B. degree and active bar admission in any U.S. state, DC or Puerto Rico.
Post-J.D. experience: at least four years identifying legal issues and drafting memos.
Experience applying federal securities laws, especially Advisers/Company Acts.
Ability to provide legal advice and oral presentations to heads of agencies.

Responsibilities

Provide legal analysis and advice on federal securities laws and admin procedures.
Lead or guide staff on securities law questions and diverse workload.
Produce legal memoranda and oral presentations for agency heads or private firms.
Advise on issues related to the Investment Advisers Act and Investment Company Act.
