Job summary

The University of Washington College of Education invites applications for a teaching faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Secondary Teacher Education with a Summer 2027 start.

The appointment is a full-time, three-year, nine-month commitment with renewal possible in year two, and includes leadership of the Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP), teaching, advising, and program development.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate or foreign equivalent in teacher education or a related field by the date of appointment.
• At least three years of secondary school teaching experience, preferably in an urban context.

Responsibilities

• Teach and mentor STEP students; lead required seminars for teacher certification pathways.
• Advise and support degree and certification progress; coordinate student support plans.
• Lead STEP program meetings and oversee daily operations, including candidate support structures.
