Responsibilities

• Support and model effective classroom management and instructional practices
• Assist teachers with behavior strategies, interventions, and student engagement
• Oversee student discipline processes, including documentation and follow-up
• Implement and monitor behavior intervention and restorative practices
• Facilitate student mediations and conflict resolution
• Communicate with families regarding behavior and attendance concerns
• Collaborate with staff, counselors, and administration to support student success
• Participate in enrollment and transition meetings to support student intake and reintegration
• Conduct school visits and collaborate with sending schools to support transitions
• Support daily operations, including supervision and substitute coordination; serve as a substitute when necessary
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with external entities
• Provide leadership support and serve as Administrator's designee when administrator is out of the building
• Perform other duties as assigned

Position Summary:

The Secondary Coordinator - Alternative Site Lead Teacher performsthe duties required to support teachers, counselors, and administrators through the development of a positive school culture and student support systems. Essential Functions:

• Support and model effective classroom management and instructional practices
• Assist teachers with behavior strategies, interventions, and student engagement

Experience:

• A minimum of three years of certified teaching experience (required)
• A minimum of two years alternative education setting (required)

• Missouri Administrator Certification (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

• Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle
• Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
• Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree

Working Conditions and Environment:

• Work is routinely performed in a typical interior/office environment
• Very limited or no exposure to physical risk
