Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks a Lead Scrub Tech for a part-time role with full benefits and a day shift. The position ensures the operating suite is prepared for procedures and assists in supervision and education while supporting department meetings and performance improvement activities.

The candidate will monitor instrument PAR levels and assist in maintaining sterile technique during operative and invasive procedures as part of a dynamic surgical team.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Surgical Technician Certification required (within 6 months of hire) or verifiable hospital surgical tech experience prior to 1/1/2018.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Minimum of one year of work experience in the operating room.

Responsibilities

• Interacts professionally with patients, family and co-workers.
• Adapts procedures to meet individual needs of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients for treatment.
• Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each individual surgical procedure, or all anticipated endoscopes, instruments, supplies and equipment of each individual GI Lab procedure.
• Assists in positioning, prepping and draping of patients for surgical procedures.
