Job summary

Hongene Biotech Corporation in Union City, CA is seeking a Senior Scientist – mRNA & Enzymatic Synthesis to lead sgRNA and siRNA design and to drive IVT and enzymatic synthesis on our Oligonucleotide R&D team. You’ll own projects from design through delivery, employing ligation methods and IVT to create sgRNA, siRNA, and mRNA with high purity and robust characterization.

You’ll mentor Chemists and Scientists, collaborate with chemical synthesis colleagues, and apply hands-on nucleic acid

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent with lab experience in nucleic acid chemistry and synthesis workflows.
• Hands-on experience with enzymatic RNA synthesis and IVT.
• Proficiency with analytical and preparative chromatography and nucleic acid techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead sgRNA design and enzymatic synthesis efforts using ligation methods and IVT.
• Synthesize siRNA constructs and well-characterized mRNA; optimize yields and purity.
• Purify products using preparative HPLC and analyze with HPLC, Fragment Analyzer, and PCR-based methods.
• Mentor chemists and scientists; collaborate with synthesis teams; own projects from design to delivery.
