Job summary

ACON Laboratories is seeking a Scientist to develop projects, design and conduct R&D studies in the field of diagnostic immunoassays. You will lead project activities, analyze data, and guide decisions on research priorities to advance product development.

The role requires expertise in lateral flow and fluorescence immunoassays, experience with immunoassay development and instrument readouts, and the ability to manage timelines and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry or related field or a bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years’ experience in an IVD scientist role.
• Experience in assay development and improvement within a quality system environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills; ability to manage timelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop projects from early development through product transfer, manufacturing and clinical studies.
• Participate in decisions on research priorities and feasibility of prospective projects.
• Design experiments and outline procedures; train subordinate personnel as needed.
• Investigate and develop new methods for solving complex technical problems.
• Assist with FDA 510(k) submissions and conduct data analysis to monitor progress.
• Lead and supervise team members for daily project activities when required.
