Job summary

Hoke County Schools - Child Nutrition is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager to support daily cafeteria operations and lead the team in the manager's absence. This role focuses on efficient meal service, adherence to safety standards, and strong customer service within a school nutrition program.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of school food service experience, and compliance with TB tests and health exams; supervisory experience and SNA certification are preferred

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of school food service experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid TB test and health examination required by local health authority.
• SNA membership and certification preferred; required within first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day cafeteria operations in compliance with state/federal rules.
• Support menu planning, food production quality, and merchandising.
• Help manage meal service for At-Risk Allergy students according to guidelines.
• Assist with line setup, meal service, and customer service excellence.
• Follow HACCP and food safety practices; minimize waste and ensure sanitation logs.
• Assist with inventory, records, and timekeeping; support staff scheduling and training.

Skills
