Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a Secondary Kitchen Manager to lead meal service for a middle or high school. You will supervise Kitchen Assistants and student helpers, ensure quality, sanitary meal production and maintain service standards.

The role requires organizing staff, promoting school meals, and coordinating with the central kitchen and principal for scheduling and student involvement. Strong leadership and knowledge of NSLP are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current FWPS Employee or Guest Employee with Nutrition Services preferred.
• Experience in school meal service or lead-type roles is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, efficient meal service to students and staff.
• Promote school lunch through promotions and variety of options.
• Coordinate meal service with staff and building activities.
• Plan and assign work to Kitchen Assistants and student helpers.
• Operate POS and meal service ticketing systems and maintain equipment.
