Job summary

Mt. Diablo Unified School District is seeking a part-time Food & Nutrition Services Cook/Baker at Gregory Gardens Elementary in Concord, CA. The role runs Mon-Fri 8:00 am – 1:00 pm, 5 hours daily, 193 days per year, starting immediately.

Responsibilities include preparing large-scale meals, HACCP compliance, and supervising staff when needed. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and familiarity with school food service operations. Certification in ServSafe is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale cooking and HACCP protocols.
• Ability to plan work efficiently and use math to adjust recipes.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen and record keeping practices.
• Prepare and cook meals for students and adults.
• Follow written and oral instructions under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook/bake large-scale meals for students and adults.
• Adjust recipes using basic math for meal distribution.
• Estimate food quantities to meet menu requirements.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitary standards in prep and serving areas.
• Assist in food preparation and serving functions.
• Clean kitchen and equipment.
• May serve as Lead Worker when required.
• Assist in storage and care of foods, supplies and equipment.
• Perform other related duties.
