Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Head Custodian to supervise custodial staff, ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment for staff, students and visitors, and to support Board policies under the Regional Custodial Services Supervisor.

The role requires at least three years of custodial experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, and the ability to read and write at a functional level; duties include scheduling, inspections, training, and coordinating

Qualifications

• Must read and write at a level required by the job.
• Minimum of three (3) years of custodial experience required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff in the district.
• Assist the area leader in the preparation of work schedules.
• Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets expectations and established standards.
• Train new staff regarding cleaning chemicals, equipment, and related supplies and materials.
• Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure service is provided efficiently.
