Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Director of Custodial Services to oversee the cleaning program across district properties. The role requires senior-level oversight with substantial decision-making discretion, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and district policies.

You will lead, manage, and evaluate custodial staff, coordinate waste and recycling operations, and drive safety, quality, and customer service across campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience managerial level position preferred.
• Equivalent combination of experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned programs/staff in the district.
• Implement and manage the solid waste and recycling program for the school system.
• Lead and supervise campus grounds and custodial staff, ensuring coverage, accountability, and quality performance.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain a clean, safe, and visually appealing campus environment in accordance with safety and health requirements.
• Coordinate support for facility use, emergencies, and seasonal operations.
• Use data and work order systems to track performance and drive continuous improvement.
