Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Head Custodian in the Non Instructional/Operations - Custodial division. Under supervision, you will supervise custodial personnel at an assigned school and help maintain a safe, clean environment for staff, students, and visitors.

Responsibilities include leading staff, preparing work schedules, inspecting facilities, coordinating with other departments, training staff on cleaning chemicals and equipment, and performing routine cleaning and light

Qualifications

Read and write at a level required by the job.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of three years of custodial experience required.
Equivalents in education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff in the district.
Record personnel issues in incident journals and assist in scheduling.
Inspect work to ensure standards are met and coordinate with other departments.
Train new staff on cleaning chemicals, equipment and safety procedures.
Inspect facilities and perform custodial duties including cleaning classrooms and restrooms.
Perform light maintenance such as changing bulbs and replacing filters; handle waste properly.
