Job summary

Wayne Township Public Schools seeks a Head Custodian to manage daily custodial duties for district facilities on a 7:00 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. schedule.

You will supervise custodial staff, ensure a safe and clean school environment, and prepare buildings for daily operations and events. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, five years of custodial experience, a valid NJ driver’s license, a criminal background check, and a Low Pressure Boiler License.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum five years of skilled custodial experience preferred.
• Valid NJ driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Criminal background check required.
• Low Pressure Boiler License required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily custodial duties and staff to maintain safe, clean facilities.
• Ensures facilities are prepared for daily operations and events.
• Inspects and maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Responds to safety concerns and coordinates repairs as needed.
• Prepares facility and grounds for school activities and events.
• Enforces security and safety procedures throughout the district.
