Job summary

Monark Student Transportation Corp. is seeking a bus maintenance mechanic to perform routine and preventive maintenance, identify and repair issues, and test drive buses to ensure safe operation.

The role requires reading manuals, using diagnostic equipment, and a willingness to learn and grow with the company. Candidates should have vocational training in auto repair, 2+ years of related experience, and access to CDL training provided in-house.

Qualifications

• Vocational/technical training in auto repair or apprenticeship.
• At least 2+ years of related repair experience.
• Willing to train for CDL; CDL training is provided in-house; state inspection license / hydraulics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buses, including oil changes and tune-ups.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and systems such as brakes, belts, water pumps, transmissions.
• Test drive vehicles and use standard checklists to ensure safe operation.

Job description

Monark Student Transportation is willing to train for those interested and willing to learn and grow with us. As Mechanic you will perform repair work and maintenance for buses.

You will perform routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes, and tune-ups, repairing or replacing malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts. You will perform tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function and examining critical parts and systems using a standard checklist. You will be able to identify mechanical issues either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment. Test drive vehicles to confirm safe and proper operation and planning timetable to complete such repairs and maintenance.

• Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment, hydraulics, and software.

What we would like you to have to support you in this role:

• Vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field required.
• Two plus years of related experience
• A commercial driver's license. *Willing to train for C.D.L.
• C.D.L. training is done in house at no extra cost to you!
• State inspection license / hydraulics

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and safety inspections.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
