Job summary

Blue Bird Bus Sales of Pittsburgh, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic to perform warranty, service, inspections and maintenance work for buses. The role includes diagnosing issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring safe operation of the fleet.

Two years related experience and a CDL or willingness to train for CDL are preferred. State inspection license/hydraulics and vocational/technical training are also valued. This is a fulltime on-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair.
• Mechanical repair skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals.
• Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment, hydraulics, and software.

Responsibilities

• Maintains vehicles, including a fleet of buses and other motor vehicles.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups.
• Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.
• Identifies mechanical problems visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.
• Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist.
• Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brakes, belts, pumps, transmissions.
• Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance.
• Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

As a Mechanic you will perform warranty, service, inspections and maintenance work for buses. If you have some knowledge and willing to learn and grow, we are here to help you succeed.

Main responsibilities:

• Maintains vehicles, which may include a company’s fleet of cars, trucks, heavy equipment, busses, and other motor vehicles.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups.
• Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.
• Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.
• Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist.
• Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
• Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance.
• Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience/Education:

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and safety inspections.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
