Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA is recruiting a Bus Hardware Engineering Manager to lead the mechanical hardware team responsible for bus structures, vehicle design, and launch support. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience with complex hardware.
• Experience with aerospace/high-reliability hardware design and integration.
• Strong cross-disciplinary collaboration across electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and test.
• Excellent communication and ability to lead technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary mechanical hardware team covering bus structures, vehicle design, and launch support.
• Own execution of mechanical designs, layouts, and integration for the satellite bus.
• Drive day-to-day coordination across sub-teams to ensure cohesive system-level execution.
• Collaborate with electrical, thermal, structural analysis, manufacturing, and operations teams to resolve interfaces.
• Ensure designs meet performance, qualification, producibility, and launch requirements.
• Support development, qualification, and acceptance test campaigns for bus hardware.
• Own mechanical readiness for vehicle integration, transport, storage, and launch activities.
• Identify and resolve technical and schedule risks impacting delivery.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance management for engineers and designers.
• Support staffing, prioritization, and execution planning in alignment with program needs.
